This Sunday our Pastor will be preaching under the title “Prayer in the Garden”. Just before the crucifixion of Jesus we find him in a garden with some of his disciples. Jesus goes a short distance away to pray alone. There is evidently some kind of deep struggle going on as he faces the death on a cross. It would be more than physical pain and the ebbing away of physical life for He was about to experience the unleashing of God’s wrath against the sins of many many people.
The disciples nearby fell asleep. Jesus continued in prayer. There is much to learn from this scene.
