Surely the Lord Is in This Place and I Did Not Know

This Sunday our Pastor will be preaching. Genesis chapter 28 records the words of Jacob “Surely The Lord is in this place and I did not know”. Who was Jacob? Where was he and why was he there? That he was not aware of the reality of the presence of The Lord is clearly expressed in his own words.
How many of us find ourselves with a similar lack of awareness of The Lord in either the personal circumstances of our own life or in significant events in the past?
Whether or not we acknowledge that God exists we need to take on board a lesson Jacob learned. Indeed it does point us to The Lord!
