Sunday Service – 4th June 10.30am

This Sunday our preacher is Ben Howlett from Monyhull church.

In the first few verses of Galatians 2 Paul gives an account of a meeting that he attended in Jerusalem. At first reading this meeting may seem fairly obscure and trivial. However, this meeting was vital in the preservation of gospel truth and in fostering partnerships in gospel work.

The Church in Galatia was being led astray from basic gospel truth by saying that for a non-Jewish convert to really be saved they had to follow Old Testament Jewish religious customs. Paul felt passionately that this undermined the freedom of the Gospel and therefore held this meeting.

While this obscure meeting occurred many years ago there is a lot we can learn from it today.
