Sunday Service ( Remembrance Sunday) – 13th November 10.30am
This Sunday (Remembrance Sunday) our Preacher will be Bill Saunders. We welcome you to join with us as we include an appropriate act of remembrance and remember those affected by wars.
Bill’s message is titled “Remember, remember & rekindle the embers”. Rightly at this time we pause as a Nation and remember the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts. Along with their sacrificial contributions to our Nations story, Christians pre-eminently remember the ultimate sacrifice of God in giving His only begotten son Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for the sins of the whole world. Our remembrances must not be only a mental exercise divorced from our lives and actions. Biblical remembrance enjoins us to remember well and rightly who God is, and what He has done or us, and therefore for each believer to rekindle-fan into flames the gifts and calling He has given us. We are to put our whole lives at His disposal, that through loving prayer and obedience to Him we prove we know Him and are seeking His kingdom and righteousness first – and in all ways. Please come and share with us the secret of turning good remembrances into JOY filled lives.
Refreshments will be served after the service so we hope you are able to stay a while to chat with us.
